Hand-dyed in Germany by the family studio behind one of the most beloved color houses in the knitting world, Twin is their workhorse sock base: tightly double-spun for strength, still soft against the skin, and famously generous in yardage. Each 150 g skein gives you about 466 m / 510 yards of fingering-weight yarn — often enough for a pair of adult socks with leftovers.

Yarns are unused, like-new stash from a generous customer who gifted these skeins as we close the studio. Ready for their first project!

The tight, multi-ply spin is what makes Twin feel different from ordinary merino sock yarn. It is round, springy, and durable and does not pill easily, Amazing for cables and texture, and it still stays pleasantly next-to-skin soft.

Wollmeise has been dyeing since 2002. Claudia Höll-Wellmann built the palette — hundreds of distinctive, saturated, often nature-inspired shades — while the family business kept the quality obsessive: generous put-ups, colorfast dyeing, and that unmistakable Wollmeise character. Twin is the “twin” of their classic superwash sock yarn: same twist and knitting feel, extra toughness from the nylon, same iconic colors.
