  • 100% superwash merino
  • Fingering / sock weight
  • 574 yds per 150 g / 5.29 oz
  • Needles: 2-2.5mm (US 1–2)
  • Typical gauge around 28 sts = 4"
  • Machine washable (gentle / 30°C fine wash)
  • Smooth, high-twist, excellent stitch definition
Hand-dyed in Germany by the family studio behind one of the most beloved color houses in the knitting world, Twin is their workhorse sock base: tightly double-spun for strength, still soft against the skin, and famously generous in yardage. Each 150 g skein gives you about 574 yards of fingering-weight yarn.

Yarns are unused, like-new stash from a generous customer who gifted these skeins as we close the studio.  Ready for their first project!

This yarn is smooth, high-twist, and known for crisp stitch definition: cables, lace, and texture stay sharp instead of going fuzzy. Needles are usually 2–2.5 mm (a touch finer than Twin). Because it is 100% superwash merino, Pure is softer and a little more fluid than Twin, with enough spring for socks if you want them, and enough drape for shawls, cowls, and lightweight garments.

Machine-washable on a wool cycle. Hand-dyed in Germany by the Wollmeise studio

Wollmeise has been dyeing since 2002. Claudia Höll-Wellmann built the palette — hundreds of distinctive, saturated, often nature-inspired shades — while the family business kept the quality obsessive: generous put-ups, colorfast dyeing, and that unmistakable Wollmeise character.
