Co-op Terms

Ordering guidelines--Please EMAIL US for a link to the current price sheet. There is a minimum order requirement of 16 skeins per colorway (16 skeins may be any combination of yarns or rovings--4 oz of roving will sub for 1 skein of yarn to meet this requirement) Maximum order of 300 skeins for the 3-week turnaround time.

Pricing--we offer co-op pricing on a wide variety of fine fibers at a considerable discount--just above Wholesale. Please see Price Sheet.

Scheduling--check our Co-op Updates and Information listing on our cart for possible openings.  A spot on our dye calendar is a date for the dyeing.  Your complete order and 50% deposit will be due one month prior to the date you are assigned on the calendar.

Payment--payment for your order will be 50% of the total at time the order is submitted; with the remaining 50%, due when your order is complete. **PLEASE NOTE** your 50% deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Please complete payment in a timely manner when notified that your order is ready. The dyeing calendar is constantly being updated and will display the status of your order.  If final payment is not received within 72 hours (excluding weekends) of email notification that your order is ready, your order may be held and subject to sale on our website. We currently accept money orders and personal checks (you may contact us for payment address), and any type of payment through PayPal or WePay.

Shipping--co-op orders shipping to anywhere in the U.S. (orders to Alaska or Hawaii may be charged an additional fee) is now FREE! We ship FedEx with signature required. Free shipping for orders placed after June 2009.  Orders shipping to locations outside of the US will receive a shipping credit in the amount of an average domestic shipping charge.  These customers will receive and additional shipping bill for the balance of international shipping.  Drop-shipping may be available for an additional charge--please email for details if interested in that option.

Eligibility--who may run a co-op? Any individual or business may run a co-op for our yarns and fibers. We do require first-time co-op Hosts to fill out an APPLICATION. We keep this information on file for future orders.

Turnaround--most co-op orders will be complete and ready to ship/deliver within 4-6 weeks of placing your order, although we are often faster. There may be unforeseen delays, in which case you will be notified.

Fiber Availability--Every fiber on our list may not be readily available at all times. In the case of a shortage in our supplies, a substitution of equal or greater value will be offered.  Yarns and fibers currently offered will be listed on our co-op pricing page.  If your group is interested in any yarn or fiber not currently on the list, please email for availability.

Trim Co-ops--Hosts may run a co-op for ‘trim’ or solid/semi solid yarns.  Trim co-ops can be run alongside of colorway co-ops and will be dyed at the same time.  Trim co-ops are currently limited to approx. 30% over the allotment for the colorway co-op.  So, if your group will be ordering 100 skeins, then they could also order up to 30 trim skeins.  A 2, 4, or 6 oz skein will be counted as one skein for purposes of tallying trim skein numbers.  Please limit trim colors to no more than 2 different colors per colorway.

‘Trim’ yarns are solid/heathered yarns that coordinate with the colorways.  Some colors will come out *quite* semi solid, others will tend to be more solid.  Browns, for example, tend to be more semi solid.  Some yarns also tend towards the heathered/semi solid look (ex: Mtn Meadow) whereas others tend towards a more uniform look (ex: BFL Aran).    As the trims are painted and the colorways are kettle dyed, there can be no guarantee that the trims will exactly match the colorways.  We try our best to get a good match.  Each color in a colorway reacts with the yarn in the kettle dyeing to produce a range of colors, and colors will combine with others to create new colors--thus not all colors that appear in a colorway will be able to be ordered as trim. The trims will definitely 'go with' the colorway, but they may not match, especially in color intensity.  As the dyeing processes for trims and colorways are entirely different, it would be nearly impossible to match the color as well as the intensity every time.  If a customer is expecting a specific color, then this needs to be communicated when placing the order.  You will be notified if any color ordered as trim cannot be dyed--however, if you are placing an order for (just an example) "Woodland Friends Brown", then we would dye the brown that we use in our kettle dyeing recipe--this is a medium-dark brown.  If the customer wants a specific color, such as VERY dark brown, then this must be communicated when placing the order so that we can let you know if it's even possible.

Order Submission--Orders are due approx. one month prior to the dyeing date assigned your group on the calendar.  Orders must be submitted in a text document or email, typed out by colorway.  Trim orders must be listed out by colorway and color, and be submitted in a separate document/email--though they will be ordered/paid/dyed at the same time.  There can be no changes after the order is submitted.

Gallery--Please visit our wholesale gallery for colorway selection. Please note--these are hand dyed colors in small batches. While we try our best to replicate the colors in our gallery, there are natural variations from batch to batch. Dye reacts differently on different fibers as well and we cannot guarantee that a colorway will look exactly as it appears in our gallery.

To Order--Please EMAIL to reserve space on our dyeing calendar and to order your Mosaic Moon yarn and fibers, or for any questions you may have.

"Co-op Updates and Information" Listing By placing your order with us, you agree to be listed on our "Co-op Updates and Information" page. We want our customers to be able to find our yarns! A listing of your co-op on our site will not imply endorsement of such co-op by Mosaic Moon. Listing your co-op on our site will not require you to accept any new members into your co-op. Basically, we want our customers to be able to find our yarns, and it will be up to the customer to research potential memberships in any co-op.

Please note: once an order has been placed and a deposit made, there can be no changes or substitutions. We do not accept returns on custom dye work, with the exception of a true mistake on our part. Thank you for your understanding.

Mosaic Moon takes pride in our work and we believe that we produce yarns and fibers of great beauty and quality. We look forward to dyeing for you!
